Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (ICAO:ZGGG, IATA:CAN) is a civil airport located about 28 kilometers north of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China. It is located in Renhe Town, Baiyun District, Guangzhou and Xinhua Street, Huadu District, Guangzhou. At the junction of Huadong Town, the geographical position is 23°10′35.72′′ north latitude, 113°15′17.13′′ east longitude, and the airport flight zone grade is 4F. It is one of the three gateway composite hub airports in China and the world’s top 100 major airports. .
The airport was formerly the old Baiyun Airport built in the 21st year of the Republic of China (1932). In 1963, the name was changed to "Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport". On August 5, 2004, the new Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport was officially opened. In February 2015, the third runway of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport was put into use.
According to the information of August 2017, the airport has 3 runways and 1 terminal, and the long-term plan is 5 runways and 3 terminals, with 202 passenger planes and 43 cargo planes (excluding FBO); Terminal T1 has a total area of 523,000 square meters; Terminal T2 has a total of 880,700 square meters, and it was put into use in April 2018; it covers more than 210 navigable points worldwide, including more than 90 international and regional destinations. More than 40 countries and regions around the world.
In 2017, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport had a passenger throughput of 65,863,900 passengers, ranked 13th in the world airport, and ranked 3rd in the Chinese airport.
